ADA Bio Rio – biological filter media – 1 liter
ADA, Biological Media, BRANDS, Filter Media & AccessoriesADA Bio Rio – biological filter media – 1 liter
Bio Rio is the basic of biological filtration. Biological filtration starts quickly after the initial setup, due to the live bacteria adhered on the Bio Rio. It is mainly made of pumice stone with a porous surface, which is ideal environment for beneficial bacteria to colonize. It also supports a long stable filtering activity.

Matrix (100gm) – biological media
100gm should be sufficient for 90 liters of water volume with normal stocking levels.
Few facts about Seachem matrix:
1.High capacity biofiltration
2.Controls ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate
3.Highly porous – enormous surface area (>~700 m2/L)
4. Supports aerobic and anaerobic bacteria species
5. Can be used for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
5. Locally sold ceramic rings or plastic balls doesn’t come close to the surface area compared to matrix. Each liter of Matrix provides as much surface (>~700 m2) as 170 liters of plastic balls. Less is more. No more heavy ceramics rings in you filters.
6.Matrix is completely inert and will not breakdown. It need not be replaced. Since the majority of the bacteria are internal, Matrix may be rinsed when needed without damaging the filter.
7. Recommend flow rate in Filter: more than 50 gallons per hour.
8. Use Seachem stability (beneficial bacteria) to quickly cycle your aquarium.SKU: n/a -

Matrix (500ML)
Matrix™ is a highly porous media designed to provide exceptionally efficient biofiltration for single site removal of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate from freshwater, marine, and reef aquaria. Each liter of Matrix™ provides over 160,000 cm2 (170 sq. ft.) of surface, equivalent to over 40 L (10 gallons) of typical plastic ball media! This product is sold by volume. Cited weight is minimal weight.
DIRECTIONS: Use 500 mL of Matrix™ for each 200 L (50 gallons*) of water. Matrix™ may be placed in any kind of filter, and is particularly effective in a canister filter. Matrix™ is sufficiently large that no filter bag should be required for most applications. Matrix™ works well in drip tray systems, but you may find that the larger Pond Matrix™ is better suited for such applications.
Aerobic bacteria grow on the pitted external surfaces of Matrix™ and convert ammonia to nitrite and nitrite to nitrate.
These pores which cover Matrix™ are home to anaerobic bacteria.

Seachem de*nitrate – 250 ml
de*nitrate™ is an economical, natural, porous material with a pore distribution and geometry that promotes both aerobic nitrification within the first few millimeters of depth and anaerobic denitrification at the core. The material has a high surface area and supports a high density of bacteria. Although de*nitrate™ has capacity to trap nitrate, this, as with other nitrate retaining materials, such as certain zeolites and synthetic resins, is quite limited and the primary mechanism of nitrate removal is anaerobic.

Seachem matrix 1 litre
Matrix is a high porosity biomedia that provides efficient biofiltration for the removal of nitrogenous waste. Matrix is a porous inorganic solid about 10 mm in diameter. Each liter of Matrix provides as much surface (>~700 m2) as 170 liters of plastic balls. Plastic bio-materials provide only external surface area, whereas Matrix provides both external and internal macroporous surface area. These macropores are ideally sized for the support of nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria. This allows Matrix, unlike other forms of biomedia, to remove nitrate along with ammonia and nitrite, simultaneously and in the same filter.
Matrix is completely inert and will not breakdown. It need not be replaced. Since the majority of the bacteria are internal, Matrix may be rinsed when needed without damaging the filter. Matrix is compatible with all types of wet or wet-dry filters
