Hemianthus Callitrichoides is one of the worlds smallest aquarium plants. It can be used to create a stunning lush foreground carpet. For this reason it is also one of the most popular carpet plants we have on sale. The leaves are millimeters in size. When planting, plant in small clumps 3-5cm apart.
High demands including high levels of CO2 and light help this plant perform well and spread across the bottom of your substrate in a compact manner. When this is acheived, Hemianthus Callitrichoides produces oxygen bubbles known as ‘perling’. This makes for a very attractive feature when the lights are on and reflecting off the bubbles. This plant can be grown under lower levels of light, however, expect much slower growth and less compact formations.
Recommended for the experianced aquascaper or high tech setups. Very good in small aquariums for a sense of scale and can also be used in larger aquaria.
